About Life in the UK Practice Test
Who we are
Life in the UK Practice Test is built and operated by Plus 44 Pty Ltd, a company that specialises in educational apps. After seeing how many people struggled to find reliable, up-to-date practice materials for the Life in the UK test, we built this app to fill the gap.
The official handbook is dense and the practice resources available online are often outdated or contain errors. This app gives you a structured way to practise with questions based on the current edition of the handbook.
How the app works
The app contains 696 practice questions covering all five topics tested in the Life in the UK test: Values and Principles, History, Society, Government and the Law, and Everyday Life. Every question includes a detailed explanation so you understand why an answer is correct, not just what the answer is.
The 20 timed mock exams mirror the real test format: 24 questions, 45 minutes, with a 75% pass mark (18 out of 24 correct). This means you know exactly what to expect at the test centre.
Our content sources
All questions are based on the official “Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents” handbook (3rd edition), published by the Home Office. The study guide built into the app covers the same material in a format that's easier to review on your phone or computer.
The study guide is available in 13 languages to help people who are still building their English skills. The test itself is in English only, but understanding the material in your first language can make studying more effective.
Our approach
We track which questions users get wrong most often and use that data to improve our explanations and study materials. The focused practice feature automatically brings back questions you've answered incorrectly so you can work on your weak areas.
The app is available on iOS, Android, and the web. Your progress syncs across all devices so you can study wherever works best for you.
